2017 September Monthly Area Meeting

President Betty attend the Monthly Area Meeting on September 4, 2017 held at the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay, Metro Manila:

1. Rotary supports issues on Child Exploitation along with other government agencies. On Nov. 11, 2017 an event called “Pito/Bata Pito/Bata” (Blow your Whistle Child) will be held at the Glorietta Mall in Makati, Metro Manila wherein one million pieces of whistles will be given away to children. They encourage the children to bring their whistles with them at all times & use it when in danger.

2. President Betty plans to recruit two (2) new members join our club before September 30, 2017.

3. Rotary introduced the Department of Health Undersecretary Dr. Eric Tayag as a new member and currently President of a Manila Club.

Donation to Stop Sexual Abuse On Children

On August 8, 2017 RIMM donated P10,000 to Gina of DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) to support the “Stop Sexual Abuse on Children” Program.

In the meantime, Academy of World Healing Foundation (AWH) which works with RIMM also handed 3rd quarter donation of P15,000 to Gina and witnessed by Alfonso Police Officer Janet, who is also a member of LCPC (Local Council for Protection of Children).

Gina of DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) Alfonso presided over the Local Council for Protection of Children (LCPC) meeting on January 30, 2017 at the Brgy. Hall of Poblacion II in Alfonso.

PP Raymund Balicha announced that RIMM would be financially supporting “Stop Sexual Abuse on Children” with P10,000 per quarter starting this immediate quarter through Gina, DSWD Alfonso, in addition to the quarterly funding of P15,000 by AWH (Academy of World Healing Foundation) whose funding members are also serving as RIMM club members. The donation will be used specifically for sexually abused children matters. Gina will be submitting quarterly reports to AWH and RIMM on this issue.

Dr. Manzo of Alfonso chief Municipal Health Officer noted RIMM’s advocacy to End TB program.

Gina was very grateful to RIMM for the quarterly financial support on sexually abused children. She said she will use part of the fund for the 5 year old rape victim.
