On April 16, 2025, the time has come, and they cherished the moment of graduation.

Our club donated the graduation medals.

]]> Rice-giving to 142 offshore fisherfolk families https://www.rotarymm.org/rice-giving-to-142-offshore-fisherfolk-families/ Fri, 10 Jan 2025 03:10:05 +0000 https://www.rotarymm.org/?p=4037 Our club, the Rotary International Multinational Manila (RIMM) provided a funding and On January 8, 2025 Eduardo Bibit, an offshore fisherman in Barangay Bantigue, Pontivedra, Capiz distributed 7 kg of bags of rice to 142 indigent families in Barangay Rizal (28 families) and Barangay Bantigue (114 families).
The main source of livelihood of the offshore community is fishing. 
Eduardo and the families of the offshore fisherfolk community expressed their thankfulness to our club.  
]]> Disaster Aid in Brgy Bugaan West Laurel Batangas https://www.rotarymm.org/disaster-aid-in-brgy-bugaan-west-laurel-batangas/ Tue, 31 Dec 2024 02:52:52 +0000 https://www.rotarymm.org/?p=3963 On December 30, 2024 the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila (RIMM) represented by President Raymund, Honorary Rotarian Carlito “Jun” Baurile, Jr. (Philippine Army Reserve Command) and his wife Malou distributed 35 bags of 5kg rice to the families affected by the landslide that occurred in October 24, 2024 in Barangay Bugaan West in Laurel, Batangas.

Piles of mud and logs are evident in the low lying areas of the barangay and the long stretch of the shoreline of Taal Lake.

There are no major illegal activities of deforestation in the area. The 2 days of intense continuous precipitation caused the soil on the mountain slopes to soften and erode, bringing down trees and water to the low-lying areas.

RIMM also gave assorted toys for the children of the affected families. The children were excited to choose the toys that were brought along.

Captain Ruffy of Barangay Bugaan West was grateful to RIMM for the assistance.

Esther’s daughter was a victim of rape and murder case.

The donation was handed over by President Raymund on December 23, 2024 at her residence in General Trias, Cavite. Two bags of 5 kg rice and biscuits were also given to her family.

Esther is repacking pepper to earn a little income.

Another daughter Mina is jobless now. Her grandson Nino is still undergoing medical treatment for tuberculosis and he is not attending school due to his health problem. Michael is in Grade 10.

Esther would like to relay her deepest appreciation to RIMM for the financial assistance to her family.

Past President Lito shared the YouTube content of Past President Dr. Klaus Radtke entitled “Climate Justice-Children’s World Tour Express Train” about the effects of climate change happening on Earth and to do something about it for the future of the next generation. Through a student leader in the community the residents will view the video and like, subscribe and share the said content to the others to spread the message further.

President Raymund talked about “Teenage Pregnancy” to the young adolescents present in the event.

The indigent community, mainly farming for their livelihood, was grateful to RIMM for the donation.

The donation was contributed by RIMM Past President Dr. Klaus Radtke.

All Grade Levels of Aeta Village Day Care Center participated.

The event was followed by a dance contest with prizes held on December 20. Both events provided gifts and foods, led by our club Rotarian Imelda and Past President Ivan.

The televisions will be used for their classroom teaching and the digital camera will be used for their campus journalism, photo essay and feature writing activities.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Aniel on behalf of President Don and his club members during the event and President Raymund of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila.

The school’s faculty and students were grateful to the Rotary Club of Geelong Central, Australia for the financial donation for the televisions and digital camera and to the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila for purchasing and delivering them to their school.

]]> Rice-giving, Environmental and Teenage Pregnancy forums at the Kaysuyo National High School https://www.rotarymm.org/3916-2/ Wed, 18 Dec 2024 02:06:06 +0000 https://www.rotarymm.org/?p=3916 On December 17, 2024, the donated funds from President Don and the club members of the Rotary Club of Geelong Central, Australia with the support of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila contributed 137 bags of 5 kg rice to the high school students (Grade 7-10) at the Kaysuyo National High School in Alfonso, Cavite.

During the school’s Christmas event Erwin, a Science teacher conducted an in-depth power point symposium on the YouTube content of Past President of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila, Dr. Klaus Radtke, an environmental scientist from the United States of America entitled “Climate Justice-Children’s World Tour Express Train“.

Erwin said the school will conduct its own programs in January 2025 on the “Youth for Environmental Science Organization” (YES O), an organization in their school developed by the Department of Education (DepEd) to further elevate the awareness of the youth on environmental issues and protection of Mother Earth.

Past President Lito of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila also shared important information on climate change and its effects to the students. The students appreciated what they learned from the forum and they subscribed and shared the “Climate Justice-Children’s World Tour Express Train” Youtube content after the event.

Gina, head of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Alfonso and Anacoreta of the Commission on Population (POPCOM, Alfonso) conducted a forum on “Teenage Pregnancy in the Philippines” followed by a vow from the students to MSWD committing not to become a teenage parent for their future’s sake.

Dr. Judan of the Kaysuyo National High School will be sharing a video of the forum.

A Certificate of Appreciation to both Rotary clubs were presented. President Raymund received the certificate on behalf of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila and Aniel on behalf of President Don and the club members of the Rotary Club of Geelong Central, Australia.

The faculty of Kaysuyo National High School extended their heartfelt gratitude to both Rotary clubs for their donations and meaningful forum on “Climate Justice” and “Teenage Pregnancy in the Philippines”.

Past President Henry Komorita of the Rotary Club of Multinational Manila assisted in the distribution of rice to the 2 daycare centers in Paliparan and Talisayan (a resettlement site) located in Dasmarinas, Cavite on December 12, 2024.
