One in Grade 12 said that she was worried since she did not have any school supplies at all since her father who sells ballot (boiled duck egg) earns barely enough for the family to survive. She was teary-eyed with joy holding her school supplies.

RIMM also supported the 4 students with their needed weekly cellphone load to be able to attend their on-line classes in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

These 4 scholars that RIMM has supported opted for financial assistance for their schooling over the Samsung tablet that were given to the other beneficiary students.

Update on November 4, 2020

RIMM supported its 4 scholars from Camp Hope for their cellphone data internet load (for the month of November) to be used during their on-line classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as they do not have Wi-Fi Internet connection at home.

One of them, who is a 2nd year AB Psychology at Cavite State University, received the funding for her and for the others at the RIMM HQ.

She reiterated this said assistance is indeed beneficial for them.

Update on December 4, 2020

Our club RIMM provided another monthly support for the cellphone load for 4 high school and college students from Camp Hope that is needed to continue their distance education as they do not have WiFi Internet connection at home.

It is part of the scholarship program following up on the donation of Samsung tablets for their on-line learning that has been implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 4 scholars were thankful to RIMM for the support.

Our club RIMM gave another assistance of P1,410 under its scholarship program for the cellphone load of 4 students from Camp Hope to be able to access their online classes for the month of January 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Update on February 7, 2021

Another cellphone load assistance was given to the four students from Camp Hope for their on-line school classes under the scholarship program of our club that was altered to fit in during the present Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The beneficially student picked fresh lettuce at the garden of AWH, the non-profit foundation which provides free usage of its facility to our club as a headquarters, to be shared to other families in Camp Hope.

Crizzalyn, a college student and one of the four scholars of Camp Hope supported by RIMM picked up another cell phone loads for the four beneficiaries in order to continue their online classes.

Crizzalyn received another monthly cellphone load of 4 scholars of Camp Hope.

She thanked RIMM for the support needed for their online studies during the Covid-19 pandemic especially the unexpected most restrictive Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status was imposed 2 weeks ago.

Crizzalyn picked up another monthly cellphone load assistance for 4 scholars of Camp Hope at the RIMM HQ. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, physical classes have been seized since last year. The end of the school year is usually in June in the Philippines. She extended her gratefulness to our club on behalf of the other scholars.

Update on June 10, 2021

Crizzalyn picked up another monthly cellphone load assistance for the 4 Camp Hope scholars. She relayed that the school year will end in the last week of June. She told that the assistance had been very beneficial for their online learning during the pandemic.

On December 12, 2019, another Christmas event was held at the same place for Aeta Elementary School students to which RIMM also sponsored. Total of about 30 including students, parents and teachers participated and enjoyed.

Both events were lead by Rotarian Imelda assisted by past president Ivan.

Gina of Alfonso DSWD (Department of Social Welfare Development) conducted a group workshop to find out what contraceptives they are using and their thoughts of the disadvantages of unplanned pregnancies. Some women were not using any form of contraceptives and decided to use them during the seminar after realizing it was a serious matter for the future of their children, although their knowledge of contraceptives at that time was only pills.

RIMM donated sacks of rice, canned goods and firewood. PP Casey gave P20 bills to all the children there. Rotarian Miki assisted in the distribution of the said donation.
The indigent women and the Barangay officials of Amuyong were grateful of the meaningful event. 

Nino’s mother was raped and murdered. Nino is 15 years old now but he is in grade 4. He almost became a street child after his mother’s death. He was found in Tagaytay 4 years ago and brought to our club. Our club with the British couple who found Nino on the street assisted his family for a couple of years funding P3,500 per month. Nino started to go to elementary school at the age of 10 and now he is in grade 4.

The family used to live in General Trias, Cavite. However they recently moved to Binan, Laguna because the place in Cavite was filled with memories of Nino’s mother. His grandmother did not wished Nino to suffer from it.

President Elect Casey visited their new rent house in Binan to give donation for Nino’s school supply. She told him that the rent there was more expensive (P2,500/mo) than the one in General Trias (P1,500/mo). Their living room was hot like sauna when PE Casey visited around 2pm in the afternoon and outside was probably cooler with some air flow.

Mhina, a sister of the deceased Nino’s mother (Nino’s aunt), is 21 years old and worked for a department store in Dasmarinas as a sales lady. She said that her contract had just ended and she was looking for a job. Actually, based on our club’s recommendation, she finished an electrical technician course in TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority), a government organization which provides free education to Filipinos.

She applied for a several positions at industrial manufacturers but due to her health reason (anemic?) she was not accepted.

The family’s life totally relies on Mhina’s income now. It is crucial to find her job.
Since it is difficult to find a job in Binan and the rent is expensive, the family wishes to move again. PE Casey suggested to move to Trece Martirez, Cavite as they have a new department store just opened. Mhina liked the idea. There is a Rotary club in Trece Martirez and PE Casey will ask for their assistance in finding a reasonable place around the town.
