With this educational support program, total of 265 Aeta Students were benefited.

The following is the list of donated items:

  1. School stationery materials for printing.
  2. Feeding for malnourished (under weight 65kg) students.  Distributed dry foods each bag with vegetables and fruits.
  3. Rice donation for School faculty.
  4. Donated 7 boxes of thermal gun scanner for fever and ample supply of antibacterial soup for hand washing.
  5. Distribution of school materials for 265 students at Christmas Gift Giving for Day Care Center, providing toys, assorted cookies and chocolate. Additional snack for 60 students and parents.
  6. Snack distribution at elementary school faculty year end party.
  7. Sponsored lunch for the school visitors who held the program for face to face classes grade 1 to 3
  8. Sponsored medals for graduation and for the recognition day

Project: Feeding Program (Dried fruits, Bread, Cereal, Milk, etc.)
Beneficiaries: 65 Underweight Aeta Students (from Kinder to Grade 6)

Our club member Imelda lead the project with support of our club past president Ivan. Due to Covid 19 pandemic restrictions, the parents of the students received the food on behalf at the school.

On November 4th, 2020 our club donated a rice cooker so that the teachers can cook rice for the feeding program.

]]> 2019 Aeta Daycare Christmas Gift Giving https://www.rotarymm.org/2019-aeta-daycare-christmas-gift-giving/ Sat, 14 Dec 2019 01:32:40 +0000 https://www.rotarymm.org/?p=2027 On December 10, 2019, Rotary Club of Multinational Manila R.I. District 3810 (RIMM) sponsored Xmas gift giving event for Aeta, which is one of the minority indigene in the Philippines. Assorted toys, chocolate, cookies, candies, donuts, coffee mugs, etc. had been donated for the event.
About 50 Aeta daycare students and 20 Aeta mothers participated to the event held at Aeta Village, Bataan.

On December 12, 2019, another Christmas event was held at the same place for Aeta Elementary School students to which RIMM also sponsored. Total of about 30 including students, parents and teachers participated and enjoyed.

Both events were lead by Rotarian Imelda assisted by past president Ivan.

]]> AETA – Oplan Balik Eskwela https://www.rotarymm.org/aeta-oplan-balik-eskwela/ Wed, 03 Jul 2019 20:22:49 +0000 https://www.rotarymm.org/?p=1968 Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) is a project lead by the Department of Education involving other governmental agencies to ensure safe and smooth starting of school year.

Incidentally, Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week is a nationwide initiative by the Department of Education (DepEd) that mobilizes thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do repairs  

May 20-30, 2019, our Rotarian Imelda supported Aeta Village Elementary School for repainting tables, installing bamboo fences, planting various plants and cleaning rooms under OBE and Brigada Eskwela.

Our club and club Rotarian Imelda Donated painting and cleaning materials and school bags and supplies to grade 4 Aeta students.

The school teachers and approx. 260 students are benefited and appreciated our support.

About 30 day care kids enjoyed assorted cookies, chocolate snacks, spaghetti, juice and gift toys. Rotarian Imelda and PP Ivan Indrisi has taken care of indigenous Aetas since our club was founded.
