During the month of December 2014 RIMM supported four ligation events conducted by Friendly Care Foundation in the Greater Manila and Cavite areas on December 3, 5, 10 and 17. This required much preparation, coordination and patience during extended travel during the busy Holiday season. Christmas giving parties were conducted by RIMM before the day-long ligation events with cash support and clothing provided on the spot as well financing for post-ligation medication provided to Friendly Care Foundation. RIMM further pledged to provide post-ligation medication as of the coming year for all poor women ligated by Friendly Care Foundation. .
December 19, 2014 (Tanza, Cavite)
The provincial health office under the provincial government of Cavite held a ceremony to award each municipality of Cavite region for national immunization campaign for polio, measles and rubella conducted in entire month of September, 2014.
Our club which financially supported the campaign was recognized under Alfonso municipal health office.
Although it was not our intention to be recognized, Since Dr. Manzo asked, Winston, a municipal nurse, and president Casey attended the event which was held at Tanza Oasis Hotel in Cavite.
Many municipalities achieved 86-91% vaccination among the children in the targeted age.
Subsequently to a team visit of the district 3810 to our club on November 12, 2014, we had our governor’s visit on November 25, 2014.
Our discussion topics included family planning and reproductive health, disaster aid, Aetas indigenous support, club administrations and incoming events. It was recognized that our club covers the Rotary areas of focus namely:
- Promoting peace
- Fighting disease
- Providing clean water
- Saving mothers and children
- Supporting education
- Growing local economies
Talented student singers and dancers from Balibago National High School, Laguna were called and entertained the district officers and the guests from Japan including our overseas Rotarian members.
